Happy With Battery Life

Two days of cycling across and back at the top end of the North Island - Day 1 Part 1,Day 1 Part 2, Day 2. Watch was on 100% at the start of day 1. Total uptime of 33hrs, GPS 13:45, external HR, no connection to GCM, battery remaining was 20%.
Possibly another 3 hours or so of GPS so 17 hrs in total maybe. That's not really too far off the specs. Certainly as much as I'll need for anything.

PS

Are you in the beta or v6.00? I am seeing better battery life on the latest beta.
  • I'm on 6.71b and also see a better battery life without a post activity power drain. I'm seeing between 8 and 9.5% consumption per day without use of gps. You can clearly see when I installed that beta.

Update the next day: Consumption dropped to 7.2% for the last 24 hours which is really good. Lets see if this is consistent!ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1474052.jpg

    What battery widget is that?

    Looks like Battery Gauge.
  • I have an F5+ Sapphire and a base model F5S+ and was disappointed with battery life on both when I first received them. I was rehabbing a foot injury so I wasn't doing much outdoor running when I first got them so most of my experience until recently was with watch mode and indoor cycling.

I've been running beta FW on the F5S+ but left the Sapphire on the current public release and over time both watches have eventually gotten to the point where they get roughly the expected claimed battery life in both smart watch and GPS modes.Over the last couple charge cycles the F5+ Sapphire has been consuming ~2.9%-3.2% per hour in SW mode and yesterday it consumed 5.8% on a 54 minute GPS run with RD-Pod and an external HRM paired via Ant+. The F5S+ is currently drawing ~4.5% per hour in SW mode and about 8% for a similar run.

In other words, disappointed originally but happy now.
