VO2 Max vs. Fitness state

hello there.

im a Little confused. My Fenix 5 plus gives me odd results.
im aware that im Not in the best shape gut what garmin tells me is ridiculous and inconsistent.

im 36 years old.
vo2 Max was 47 First Time i Used it. this is one month ago and since then i was Running 3-4 Times a week.
vo2 Max is now 36(!!!) and My Watch tells me i am practically 65 years old. :/

on the other side My fitness state increased from -15 to about -3 in this Time. Which seems to be more realistic than the Vo2 Max.
whats with the Vo2 Max? Why is it falling down Every Time i Go for a run?

any ideas?

thank for the help!
  • SAHO that's what I meant by zones and why I said he needs to have the three parameters set correctly. After your comments, I realized that the actual "zones" could be widely varied and probably not very useful to use in their algorithms. Now I'm curious if they only ever use default percentages of MaxHR or if they will use the more easily determined and variable LTHR and resting HR values if present for the training effect and training load values. I was reading their white paper on how they determine VO2Max using pace and HR and they do only show it using a percentage of MaxHR.
