Fenix 5 plus round trip creation

I created a round trip today, selected the route and selected go. All was good for the first 5 minutes but then the power saver kept kicking in and I had to keep dismissing it. How can I actually record a work out while using the round trip creation?

Sounds like you did not have it connected to an activity.

When creating the round trip I had to choose either run or bike and then once it had created the 3 routes I selected go.

That created the course. I've found that I need to save the course after that. Then go to the run activity, Navigation, Courses, select your saved course, choose to do course, at which point it will then load. You can then press start and begin the activity following that course.

There may be a shorter way, but this works for me.
