Yup, mine fenix 5 plus works with Galaxy Buds.
Although sometimes I experience some noises and short (about 100-300ms I think) signal cutoffs especially when I`m outside and there are lot o WiFi interference around I suppose. But overall experience is good enough to use for jogging not very near to WiFis. I wear Fenix on left hand.
Basic touch control - play, pause, next, repeat works, I think not possible to control volume or don`t know how.
Hi Just bought the galaxy buds and the Garmin Fenix 5s and have drop out issues when running. When the buds are connected my Galaxy S10 i have no issues, only when connected to the watch i have issues? I have updated all devices to the latest SW version.
Seems like this is a common issue? I just paid over $200 for the buds and essentially cant use them!
I have a 5X+ and my Galaxy Buds (supplied with S10+) are hopeless with the watch on the left wrist. They are fine with the watch on the right wrist. I haven't explored touch options at all whilst connected to the watch, but I think they are dumbed down a lot. I can at least pause/resume music with a tap, but I've not tried anything else.
My Trekz Titanium headphones seem to have more success with the connection, but my experience is very limited - just sitting in bed to test, not running etc..
Hi, did you ever get these working? I'm having similar cut out issues with my Fenix 6 pro
First remove only the left bud from the case and close the lid. Let the left bud connect with the watch first.
Then remove the right bud from the case and let that connect. That should hopefully fix the problem, but must be repeated every time you wish to connect.
Thanks eezytiger I'll give it a go! I wore it on my right wrist this morning before reading your reply and it worked fine but it's as comfortable, will try this approach tomorrow
THANK YOU! it was driving me CRAZY, but your fix really seems to work!
Good to hear.
Basically the watch connects to one bud only and then the buds talk to each other. If the watch and the connected bud are on opposite sides of the body (and head) then the signal is compromised by the watery mass between the two
Some headphones/earphones/earbuds can make the first connection to the left or right bud, but you might need to force connection to the left bud, as described, if the watch is worn on the left. Some brands can only support connection to one side and it seems usually (always?) to be the right side. This may not be a problem with a more powerful phone connection, which can more easily pass through flesh, but from a little watch with tiny battery and frugal power use it can prove to be a problem.
I think that if your buds are right side connected only and you have dropout problems then moving the watch to the right wrist is the answer - or find buds that can connect on the left.
It's also worth noting that testing indoors might not reveal problems as the signal can bounce off hard surfaces to arrive at the destination. Outdoors in open space that possibility is removed.
