Backlight goes on to 100% and can't turn it off....

Once in a while when sifting through widgets, an alarm goes off or just doing nothing, the backlight will somehow turn on to 100% brightness.
I have made for during workouts and not during workouts that the gesture, and key presses do not turn on the backlight, so the only way the backlight should turn on is the pressing of the light button or a notification/alarm.

Yet when it does come on sometimes no matter what I do the screen goes to 100%, drains the battery like crazy and heats up the device

The only work-around I have found so far is turn off the watch for at least 5 minutes then turn the watch back on. But I can turn the device off, play a game for more than 10 minutes, turn the device on and the problem persists. Other times I can turn off the device for around 5 minutes, eye my phone's 5 minute timer, turn the watch back on and the issue will be resolved, so my "solution" is kinda more of a lucky remedy than a real solution.

Anyone else have this sort of problem with their device?
  • No, I have not. Maybe there is an issue with the version you’re on. Are you still on 6.00? If so, download Garmin Webupdater and reinstall the 6.00 software. If you’re on a beta, either downgrade to 6.00 or reinstall the GCD beta file.

It may be just a quirk or a setting you accidentally activated.

Yes my watch was still on 6.00. Although thanks for the idea, the Garmin Webupdater didn't seem to fix much problems, as after the reinstall of the 6.00 version software, the problem still persisted and the watch is at full brightness on the desk right now.
Last night I slept with the watch off, and as I woke up hours later and attempted to turn it back on, the backlight went back to 100%, once again unable to turn down or off.
