  • Fixed an issue where the alarm clock status was incorrect when accessed through Power Controls.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue where the device could crash during an activity.
  • Fixed several minor issues with music.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

Please send all bug reports to [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected][/EMAIL], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 Plus series you have in the subject line.
  • Lol, after 2 months i expected a long list of bugfixes...all major bugs ( at least for me) remain here....i have no words... so what's th point of this sentence "Please send all bug reports to [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected][/EMAIL], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 Plus series you have in the subject line. " ? Why i have to waste my time to report bugs (they also want activity file, information, folders, tests that i have done for them) if after months the don't fix anything????
  • It could also be that they haven’t come up with a solution yet. I submitted an issue months ago with Maps and a locations “Review” information being wrong (missing) and it’s still not fixed (works on the MK1 Descent but not the Plus/TC models).

I’m sure when they have a fix, they’ll implement it.

I too am also very disappointed in this update and expected much more including more bug fixes and even maybe some new features like Body Battery. The only bug I have tested which appears fixed is when using the Bose Soundsport Free headphones which now work flawlessly and do not cut out when starting an activity. Still very annoyed at the lack of content here.

Don‘t forget that they also needed time to integrate new bugs :)

Storm Alert during Ski Activity(see here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...g-and-skiing); altitude correct itself when i start an activity even if i have disable altimeter auto calibration (result in this : https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...ascent-wrong); elevation plot is completely wrong in navigation activity (see here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...gating-a-route and here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...tally-random); battery meter is a joke (see here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-the-trail/wrist-worn/fenix-5-5s-plus/1367209-disappointing-battery-life); post activity battery drain after gps activity (https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-the-trail/wrist-worn/fenix-5-5s-plus/1367209-disappointing-battery-life); some italian translation error... the list al least for me it's long...
  • Is the "Safety" menu new? I don't remember having "incident detection" and "assistance". I think the assistance feature just came out in the Vivoactive 3 Music / Cellular. It's nice to see it on the fenix 5+. Once enabled, to activate hold down the light/power button for about 5 seconds.

Also, I think I'm seeing a change in the battery meter performance. When I charged my watch after the update, it went all the way to 100% instead of hitting 92% and then jumping straight to 100%. And after charging, it went to 99% within the first couple of hours instead of staying at 100% for 8 or 10 hours before showing any drain. Of course this is just one data point and may be a fluke.

Perhaps there's a little more in this update than they listed.
  • I did a quick test and it mght have solved the issue I had with audio playing ping-pong (and also problem with the playback speed) between left and right ear using my Bose Soundsport free. It started as soon as I pressed the activities button but seems to be fixed now.

Thanks Garmin - this was a big issue for me :-)
  • Why all these things are not explained in changelog?
  • For those that are wondering (based on VA3 info):
[h=1]Safety and Tracking Features[/h] CAUTION! Incident detection and assistance are supplemental features and should not be relied on as a primary method to obtain emergency assistance. The device and app do not contact emergency services on your behalf.

The vívoactive[SUP]®[/SUP] device has emergency and tracking features that must be set up with the Garmin ConnectTm app.
NOTICE! To use these features, you must be connected to the Verizon[SUP]®[/SUP] network or be connected to the Garmin Connect app using Bluetooth[SUP]®[/SUP] technology.
    Incident detection:
When the vívoactive device detects an incident during an outdoor walk, run, or bike activity, the device sends a message, LiveTrack link, and GPS location to your emergency contacts.

    Assistance:
Allows you to send an automated text message with your name, LiveTrack link, and GPS location to your emergency contacts.
