Reboot during swim

First time it's happened but was half way through a pool swim, looked at watch and it had the startup logo displayed.

Started another pool activity and assumed i lost the 1st one. Checked GC after and both had synced (whether the first swim did so during the reboot im not so sure as phone was about 30 meters away in locker)

The geek in me wants to see the crash logs.. Anyone know where these are stored??

Thanks
• Ok..that's weird. I believe the crash logs are stored in \GARMIN\EVNTLOGS. I would report this to Garmin. What version of firmware are you running? If it's the most recent beta (6.51), report it to the beta team... [email protected]
• Same happened to me a few days ago - luckily the crash occurred early during my warm-up. I found a partially recorded FIT file in the ACTIVITIES folder of the F5+ but wasn't able to get any useful data out of it even though I tried Fit File Repair Tool which appears to be the gold standard. The only thing I can say is that the start time matched me starting the swim.

I was going through a structured workout at the time.
• I can see the crash error log in /GARMIN/Debug/ERR_LOG.BAK and the timestamp matches when the the fit file was last written to and saved (before the device rebooted). It's the only crash log there.

Other than a small call stack there's not much to go with unless I contact Garmin devs about it. not even sure what email to contact them on. Oh and this was on software version 6.0, not a beta.
• Sometimes these things happen. Do a hard reset - press and hold top left button until it shuts down, then restart. If it does it again, contact Garmin Support. Or contact Garmin Support anyway and see if they want your crash logs. Work through the Support tab at the top of the page.
• thanks, yeah hopefully just a one off. Didn't bother me all that much because it saved before reboot. I have performed the reset holding down the light button for 15 seconds anyway.
• It happened to me twice. Both with interval morenthan 500m
• Happened to me this morning during a swimrun training session (open water swim, run; repeat) while running after a swim leg. Sent some files through to Garmin.
• philipshambrook - did you send the log files to usual Garmin support? I am using latest stable software, not beta. Hasn't happened since but please please let us know if you get a reply on what might have caused it! Thanks
• Good to see that I am not alone... I have also had several reboots most of the time in the beginning of activities, but today I had it at the end of an activity. Not running the beta firmware and I did not have these problems before 6.00. Will start to send whatever logs I jave to the Garmin support.
• Happened to me several times now. Using software version 6.00.
Followed suggestion of @philipshambrook and did a hard reset yesterday. That didn't help. Today a new reboot during swimming occurred.
Some data of rebootswim are saved, but corrupt. I had a reboot after 10 lanes of 25 meters in about 5:00 minutes, but saved time during this reboot was 23:29:50.
Will contact Garmin support. Considering upgrade to 6.51 beta. Does anyone have any experience on that version, regadering the swimreboots?
