Problems with altimeter/barometer settings for mountaineering and skiing

I have a problem with settings in the barometer and altimeter on Fenix 5x Plus in two instances
1. When skiing- when I descent fast from a high altitude to much lower altitude it automatically sets of an Storm Alert. This is obviously due to rapid drop in pressure associated with the differences in altitudes. But in my opinion it should have been corrected by GPS altimeter-telling the barometer part that the drop in pressure is due to losing altitude not from changes in weather. I have the altimeter set to auto calibrate so there should be an internal algorithm to account for changes in altitude
2. On the other hand when climbing the altimeter needs constant calibration because of the differences in weather patterns experienced in the mountains.

So the question is : what are the optimal settings for those situations? Is it possible at all to have accurate altitude readings and (quite useful in the mountains) info about possible changes in weather

So it seems that there are two serious problems
1. The auto calibrate feature during activity is simply not working
2. There is no crosstalk between GPS data when it comes to altitude and barometer readings
What is puzzling that those issues should be really easy to fix- we know the expected drop in presure associated with certain elevation drop. If only the auto calibrate for altimeter would work properly...

So, the question is: how does the auto calibration should work in the mind of Garmin? What happens if I activate auto calibration???

I think it is an issue, it should work as you mentioned.

nobody knows. nobody tells. I was asking about this in Garmin.

I found that in some other products there was also problem with AutoCalibraion.

this problem is not fixed but I do not know why Garmin is doing nothing in this issue.

According my research not answer from Garmin. thinking way about AutoCalibration is:

you Activate it and accroding to DEM data it should calibrate your altimeter during activity (Continous) or just at the begining (at start). no information how often algorithm is made during activity, no information how it is calculated.

both are not working properly. I noticed that only sometimes it happened that there is "attempt" of calibration. in most cases it simply not working: how can I ski to altitude -230m? 1000m of mistake (!)

it is not possible to choose if you want to calibrate to GPS or to DEM. in some cases it would be better to use DEM calibration (walking) and some times it would be better to use GPS (climbing in vertical walls, walking on vertical paths, via ferrata) - in last case it is very possible that DEM data are wrong (examle: Cima Grande in Dolomities, high tower - wrong DEM data, there GPS can work without any problem.
