Battery drain Fenix 5X plus

I like to bring to anybody's attention that the power drain for the Fenix 5X plus has drastically increased in the standard setup from factory from 5% / day to 12% / day with version 6.00 update. This is shortening your lifetime of the battery due to the increased charging cycles in time. I have asked Garmin to explain this and how to get back to a lower battery drain. Until now no response I think the Fenix lifetime reduction of more than 50% is unacceptable. Pls investigate! Together we are strong.
  • It all depends on your configuration and what you’re doing. On my 5x+ I’m getting .0251% per hour drain (roughly) on 6.00.
  • I can confirm too. I have turned on acclimation mode, but I think this function can‘t make battery draining too much fast.

Hey, can I confirm if you meant to say '.0251% per hour' or '0.251% per hour'? The first one would be a fantastic power efficiency!

I've noticed that the version of Connect Mobile seems to play a big difference in power train as well. The update on Jan 9 seemed to increase both the watch power draw, as well as the Bluetooth power draw from my phone. I'm guessing it messed up something with the Bluetooth Sync. I downgraded to the previous version, and all was well again. I've now tried the latest update (17 Jan), and will see how it goes...

I also found that 'Always On' seconds seems to almost double the power consumption.
  • My 5X+ APAC FW5.1 is completely random in battery usage.

I had 9-10 days where it did really well at 0.233% / hr - and then now i’m at 0.316% after next change and 7 days elapsed (no change in settings or software - stuck on 5.1 APAC) - both doing about 2.5 hours / week of training with about 0.5 outside with GPS. (I have PulseOx disabled)

I added an extra 0. It is 0.251.

  • I can verify there is a drain. It's amost like a widget once used is always draining..

I am aware of the configuration settings. When I bought I tested the Garmin claim for 20 days standby, this to verify the battery. The battery was only drained roughly 5 % per day as tested.
When I noticed the shortened battery cycle I tested it again in factory reset. The result 12 % without BT in version 6.00. Based on your 0.251% is 6% per day. So what is your configuration standard
  • Bluetooth on, Smart Notifications on (about 50 per day with Vibration on), Pulse Ox manual only (useless feature IMO being on all day as your always moving), Standard WF. No music/major activities that require constant GPS. Will just use to update Sunrise/Sunset and using DEM to get Altitude.

Thx, The Pulse OX is consuming all that extra power drain. I'm back to 5% more or less.

Yep. I have exactly the same experience.
