Charging on the go

Coming from a 735 I found charging on the go quite beneficial especially on an ultra whilst using mapping.
Looking at the style of charger on the 5 plus it seems that’s not possible. Is that the case?
if not, would I be able to take the watch off my wrist and hold it whilst charging without pausing or stopping my current activity or mapping?

It can't be worn when connected. The plug sticks out straight. A flat or 90 degree charger would be great.

It can be plugged into a powerbank, but takes a while to charge so keeping it connected could be frustrating.

Seems silly to me. I’m surprised it’s not designed for a. Ultra runner using mapping at the same time. Oh well.
A cradle that could sit between the watch and wrist would be ideal.

Agree. Something like I use for my Edge 25, or my wife's Forerunner 25 would work OK if it had to. If the cable was long enough you could have a powerbank in a pocket or rucksack.

Good 3rd party product idea for someone!

I saw either on E-bay, or Facebook in one of the fenix forums, a charger that was somewhat like the Fenix 3 chargers, that the guy had for the 5 series. Was flat, and the watch sat in the charger, with different pin arrangement. Can't find it now though, look in all of the fenix forums on Facebook.

UPDATE: I found it, don't know if it will do what you need, but it appears it might. Found it on Amazon.
