Hello everyone,

got a huge Problem with my brandnew Fenix 5 plus. Can't get it paired with mit phone, Pairing initialization stuck.
What i tried: Updatet to Firmware Version 6.51. No luck ...

Before I send it back i would like to try downgrading. Where can I get the latest 5.XX Files?

Cheers

    8. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, drop the gupdate.gcd file found in the System_Backdate_v420 folder in the \GARMIN directory

Garmin Express still thinks it's softwarre 6.00 after deleting and readding the watch ...
  • Try to upgrade again to 6.51 beta. Download the file and follow the instructions:
    • Place the gupdate.gcd file, found in the System_v*** folder, into the \GARMIN folder of the device
    • Place the gupXXXX.gcd file, found in the 5*_Sensor Hub_v*** folder, into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device
    • Place the gupXXXX.gcd file, found in the GPS_v*** folder, into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device
    • If you have a WiFi-enabled device, place the gupXXXX.gcd file, found in the WiFi_v*** folder, into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device
    • Place the gupXXXX.gcd file, found in the ANT_BLE_BT_V*** folder, into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device
    • Disconnect from your computer and proceed through the update.
    • If you would like to revert to the last public release software, drop the gupdate.gcd file found in the System_Backdate_v420 folder in the \GARMIN directory
    • NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.

If you still have the issue after reboot and upgrade, try only this:
    • Place the gupXXXX.gcd file, found in the 5*_Sensor Hub_v*** folder, into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device

It should upgrade the sensor only and instead of showing BLE/ANT/SNS version 0.00 you should have 6.25

    Thanks

  • sounds to me like the bluetooth chip might be failed or locked in a weird state. Can you still connect to Wi-Fi and sensors? I believe the bluetooth and Wi-fi are on the same chip, so if the chip is actually failed I would expect to see some other problems as well. Honestly at this point I would call Garmin support
