Manual Intervals

Hi,

I would like the ability to run while starting manual intervals. So, I start a run, which records the entire length of my training session, but at any time I can start an interval, stop it, and start a new one. During an interval the watch will display the interval status only, i.e. time, distance and elevation.

I would like this because predefined intervals don't always work out with the terrain I'm on, and if I'm running laps on a track, the GPS isn't accurate enough to match the length of a track.

I can't work out how to do this. I can select an interval run and click to make it jump to the next interval but that still doesn't give me the freedom I want. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.
  • The activity doesn't have to be an interval training. Just disable 'auto-lap'. Use the lap button for each new manual interval. Make a datascreen for your activity with lap values, e.g. lap time, lap distance, lap elevation etc.
  • Thanks for the reply. I'd created my own activity and for some reason it didn't support laps. However, I disabled 'auto lap' on 'running' as you suggested, and that almost works, but when I press the lap button during an interval it immediately jumps to the next interval. My preference would be that it stops the current interval and returns to non-interval mode until I press lap again to start another interval. Is that possible?
  • At the end of your interval press the Start/Stop button to pause the watch and then select Lap from the menu that comes up after a second or two.
