So i've had this watch about 25 days and I thought it was all working fine, been on a couple of runs and i though the distance felt a bit dodgy. I realised today the gps isn't working at all. In the system >settings > about the gps shows 0.00. I tried the golf activity and it never found gps. The watch is fully up to date, it sync fine with garmin connect. I tried a factory reset and then left it with clear access to the sky for over 2 hours and still no luck. Is my garmin faulty? Does any one know how to fix this? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1439966.jpg
wow, no i have never seen that before. I might try going to the 6.51 Beta post that is stickied at the top of the forum and download the Beta. Then just copy over the GPS file only using the instructions provided on the Beta site. This might force it to copy the correct firmware. If that doesn't work I would suspect that the GPS chip has failed, which is why it isn't reporting a firmware version. You should call Garmin Support and tell them about it.
GPS 0 used to occur frequently on the older forerunner devices. Usually fixed with a restart and/or a master reset. Have you tried the fix suggested here?
