The step counter and treadmill calculator is a joke

I have a job where I go a large part of my job, though I'm going 8 hours at work, says the pedometer that I might do ~ 4000 steps sometimes with some luck, so I say ~ 6000 steps, which does not matter is the total steps on the whole day, ie 24h. I have also made the settings where I measured a distance and calculated my steps to "calibrate" but still it shows that error. Sometimes I check the clock and go for 1-2 minutes for a while and the pedometer does not move, which I think is a joke for this product, which, in my case, pays 1000 euros.

Then we have the next problem or joke.
I take a powerwalk on the treadmill for 10km and I've calibrated it according to Garmin's instructions, so it says I've been in 3.5km. Then I went for 1h 28m while the treadmill said 10km so my 3.5km clock says

I have tested setting up the wrist settings and running with Garmin's default settings but experiencing the same problem, have you experienced any problems?
  • Garmin devices try to reject "false steps" - things like just moving your arm around while sitting.

When you take steps, you want to do 10 or more for them to be counted. While you take a bunch of steps, is it 5 steps over, stop, take 5 steps back, etc?

For the treadmill, are you holding on to the bars?
