Equipment - Fenix 5 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge & Iphone
I've a new 5+ which I paired without trouble to my Galaxy S7. Notifications were being sent from the phone to the watch and in Garmin Connect I could see HR and steps etc.
I did my first run but despite having a green dot in the sync circle the white line would get half way round and then stop. Then on the phone it would say Fenix 5 plus connected by bluetooth and the sync would start again only to get half way and then stop, I'd get the message Fenix 5 plus connected by bluetooth and the sync would start again...
No matter what I tried I couldn't get it to sync. I wondered if the file was corrupt so tried it a different way. I disconnected the phone from my S7 and connected it to my work phone (iphone). This time the sync happened 1st time and my data appeared in GC.
I've since tried pairing it back with the S7 Edge and I'm continually getting the same problem. It starts but doesn't complete a sync it is as if the Bluetooth disconnects for a fraction of a second and it starts again. Notifications still come through ok as does steps, HR data etc. You would never know that there was any connection issue at all other than the fact it doesn't stay connected long enough for activity data to sync. (I've also noticed that on each new connection it briefly - spot in the notification area, that it looks for Spotify - I've not got as far as connecting that yet so those settings are all default).
It is driving me mad. The fact it will sync using the iphone makes me think it is a phone thing rather than watch thing but I don't have any issue with any other BT device connected to the phone.
Has anyone had a similar experience / can suggest something that I can try I was kind of hoping to be able to transfer activities from watch to phone without having to go back to a lead (or connecting to a different phone). All data updates have been done.
Thanks in advance...
