Sleep and stress tracking

Hi all,

I have had my Fenix 5 plus for a couple of days and all of sudden the sleep and stress tracking have stopped, or at least is not syncing to Garmin Connect.

My Sunday night sleep was tracked and synced just fine, and my stress levels were being monitored properly yesterday up until about 5pm. After that, there is no data from 5pm onwards until now, and also my sleep on Monday night was not recorded.

I have upgraded all the firmware through Garmin Express, tried signing out and back in to my accounts, etc.

It's really frustrating that these functions have stopped working seemingly for no reason and after only one day of use.

Any ideas??

Thanks all

Another thing, which may or may not be related, it always takes two attempts for me to sync using Garmin Express. The first attempt will give an error telling me the device is not set as my activity tracker (which of course it is), but it always works fine on the second attempt. I did have a Forerunner 220 before the Fenix, but I have since removed this from Garmin Connect to prevent any conflicts.

This doesn't really bother me as I think in general I will rarely use Garmin Express to sync, but as it's clearly unexpected behaviour, I thought it was worth mentioning,

OK, I also just realised the HR data stopped at the same time, 5pm yesterday, but real time HR data is shown on the Garmin, This is super annoying now and not what I expect from a $800 piece of hardware

Ok, so it's clearly a problem with syncing, as the homepage of my device shows my step count for the day, but going in to view details it has nothing recorded.

Any advice how I can fix this please?

  • First step with sync issues is always to reboot watch and whatever device it is supposed to sync to (iOS/Android/Mac/Windows). If that doesn't help what did sort out things for me in the past was starting an activity (any, I usually select hike), letting it run for a couple of minutes, stop and save it and sync afterwards.

If all this doesn't get you anywhere you need to dig deeper and attempt stuff like signing out and back into Garmin Connect, removing your device from the known Bluetooth devices and such. Or it might all be an issue on Garmin's back-end which should then resolve itself simply by waiting.
