Am I dead?

I had my fenix 5+ sitting in the drawer for a couple days, still have 65+% of battery, so that's not the problem. However, when I go into the HR widget, it shows a heart rate for a tiny (<1 sec) amount of time, then goes to "measuring", the shows 0. I'm pretty sure my heart is beating, but am wondering what's up with that? I've done the power down/up, thing, and it's still doing it. The watch "was" cold, (cold here), but has been on my wrist for abuot 1/2 hour and appears to be warm. Any ideas?
I tried chat, but that's useless, "All of our chat specialists are busy... <blah, blah>"

I did the "stress" test, and it said "Check watch fit", (I'm wearing it the same as I always have), then peeked under the watch when it was "measuring" the HR. The lights are on, but apparently, nobody's home.
  • Update, I tried the hard reset, (Hold down back/lap, turn on unit with "light" button), and one time it came up with "Reset user data", I decided I wasn't ready to do this, so I said "NO" and it rebooted. A few minutes later, I decided I'll do it, so I tried to do this again, and it simply does not work. Hold down the Back/Lap, hit the "Light" button, and after about 20 seconds, the green triangle comes on. I think I've lost my F5+!
Now, hopefully, Garmin Support will be somewhat efficient.
  • Either you had a failed FW update or it's a hardware issue.
  • Update. I turned the watch off, left it in the drawer for an hour, decided to give it "one more try", and the darn thing worked! Still reading like a champ. Seems it went into a "hibernation" mode when was left idle for several days while still turned on. (I wanted to test the battery life with no interference, or additions. Guess I can't do that)
