any update on this issue...? mine happened recently.
It's great that you've picked up on this thread but a bit more detail might be useful. What version are you on? What did you do immediately before? Have you tried a hard reset - press and hold top left until it shuts down, then restart.
Have you read the posts from last year and followed those suggestions?
Connect to Garmin Express and sync.
my lastest version is 5.40. however the GPS version is 0.00. I have run through all posts... unfortunately couldnt find any similar... btw i have connected to garmin express and synced.. but GPS 0.00 still remain.
try starting an activity that uses GPS, and wait for a lock.
If the hard reset followed by another sync with Garmin Express does not work, contact tech support. You should see a non-zero GPS software version (probably 2.50). Be sure to tell tech support if you manually installed to 2.51 GPS beta. I only mention that because its presence might be blocking the update to 2.50 via Garmin Express.
I also find it odd that you still have f/w 5.40 after a Garmin Express sync.
There is definitely something awry as the latest public release for the 5+ is 10.0. Might be best to try a complete reset however, first check to see if you have anything in the REMOTESW folder. If you do, delete it, remove the watch from your computer and do a hard reset - press and hold top left until it shuts down. Then power up and check the GPS version.
No matter what you end up with, reconnect to Garmin Express and synch. If there's still no difference do the following:
Power down the watch.
Power on and as soon as you see the blue triangle, press and hold the top right and bottom right buttons together. At the first sound release the top right. At the second sound release the bottom right. NOTE this process will remove ALL your user settings and data so make sure you've saved anything you want to keep.
Reconnect to GE and synch. If no difference contact Garmin Support.
