Hi,
as sking season is upon us, how is the ski tracking on the 5? I normallnormally use a dedicated app, like Skitraxv, but now I wanna use F5, especially for the HR.
I was a bit inclined to jump ship to 5xplus, for the o2x sensor. F5 has been solid so far for running, swimming, especially for the price.

Cheers,
Bob
  • I haven't been skiing yet with my F5X+, but I have some experience from my previous F3.

The app on the F3 auto pauses the activity when going up in lifts and auto unpauses when going downhill. There is no option of instead getting an auto lap in those situations.

I prefer logging the full trip with individual laps for uphill and downhill, so I had to disable the auto pause feature and do manual laps - which I of course forgot a lot of the time. I hope the F5X+ will suit my preferences better.

Apart from this, the app worked fine.
  • I have used it a few times this season, still figuring it out. Noticed the auto pause feature which I like and data read out in connect seems good.

Did the HR/O2x metrics log in properly? I ski mostly as workout, to improve fitness.

Had both on each hand for a 3 day ski trip, and I must admit good old 5 is KOM by far(accuracy HR,battery, comfort,etc..)
pulse oxyometry graph crashes constantly on GC. personally dont nee Spotify or Topomaps(YET), so staying put on 5, happily and patiently waiting for a F6, or 935 successor(hopefullywith OHR OWS). Plus, could not find a decent face for the 5x+. Plus it felt too big a nd "plasticky" on my wrist, IMHO.
