Checked on Garmin Express, and noticed that an update to Firmware Version 6.0 is available, along with BTLE, Sensor Hub, and something else was available. Anyone got the changelog so I can see what I've done to myself?
For anybody relying on BikePowerMeter Data, take care about 6.0. I was on 5.1, updated to 5.57 BETA and experience very high power peeks >50000 watts, this screws up all stats, lite FTP, avg. Power, calories,... my hope was that this is fixed with 6.0 but the BETA team somehow was not able to incorporate a fix in time. hopefully 6.1 will fix this issue.
thbrod : Is this issue related only to native power data, and only cycling power?
I have a Stryd foot pod and would hate updating and suddenly get spikes that screws up everything, but the Stryd reports running power through it's own ConnectIQ app/datafield, so hopefully not affected?
Anyways - will wait to update until I see more feedback on 6.0.
Give it a few days and I'm sure there will be an announcement.
My hunch is that it's going to happen this evening (afternoon if you are in US). Fri afternoon seems the most common time for Garmin to release updates...so that nobody can respond to angry customers' complaints for at least two days
anybody copy the update files to the PC before doing the update?
Not me. I was fixing an issue with updates to a new 5+ that was happening on a Mac and playing with GE in Windows running in VirtualBox and it just happened. From GE on Windows. No chance to do anything.
