  • Garmin Pay now asks me for PIN every single time, not just once every 24h.
  • And now, a few hours later, Garmin Pay works like it should again for no apparent reason. Did not restart watch or anything like that, just tried again.
  • Stewa, did you change which arm you were wearing your watch on?

When I wear my watch on my left arm, Garmin Pay wants PIN every time, even though I haven't removed the watch from my arm in the meantime.

I know that the watch is supposed to reset the PIN when I take off the watch, and I have always assumed that it uses the HR sensor for detecting if the watch has been removed. However, I wonder if it is using the accelerometers and is confused by a changed movement pattern when I wear the watch on the wrong arm.
  • Hi all,

I notice too, the dreaded 'cannot sync with Garmin servers' has returned. I removed my F5x+ and attempted to re-add my device to be told 'your device is not compatible with express please contact customer support' .....

I have been away for two weeks, nothing has changed on my iMac, it wasn't even turned on during this time.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix?

    Thanks in advance.

  • The map navigation bug - where distance to next turn would always be 0 meter - has been fixed. Turn arrows on map are also correctly placed now.

Does turn by turn notification text works for you? Does it notify when you are at your destination?

When the next turn comes up, the watch switches to map screen with a turn arrow and the distance to the turn shown at the bottom of the screen. I do not get a text screen. When I have completed the turn, the watch screen switches back to where it was before.

When I reach my destination I get a text screen.

  • I posted this in another threat but I'll repost here as I think it is a firmware issue:

So I did a bit of testing, so to speak. I start the HR widget then observed the reading and it was OK i.e ~70 bpm. I would plug the OH1 into the charger and the HR would read as 0. Now this is not ideal, obviously, as the OH1 is not being worn it is on charge. I reported this behaviour to Polar but they don't care. So, I unplugged the OH1 from the charger. The widget noticed the disconnection and changed to "measuring" where it would stay, indefinitely, or me power cycling the watch. I did this 3 times over a 40 minute period with the same results always back to "measuring". The green LEDs are on but no data.

There is something wrong when switching back to the wrist based heart rate monitor that requires restarting the watch to get it working again.

This never happened with the 5x which I have been using with the OH1 for months and months.

Here are some links to my timeline showing how the heart rate drops off:

  • Since installing this Beta my Fenix5xplus is recording extreme spikes of my bike powermeter up to 50KW this screws up the FTP detection and even the power everages are complete nonsense. It is something within the firmware, thus it did not happen with 5.1 and my edge 520 which runs in parallel, does not show the spikes.

the second picture show the corrected values after running fit file repair and removing the spikes
