Wifi not working - can't download music from Spotify

I haven't been using Wifi on the watch since I bought it. However, itI now need it for downloading songs from Spotify.

Once I try to download a specific playlist to the watch, the watch tries to connect to the Wifi network that I set up through the app on my phone. After about 20 seconds I get an error saying "Can't connect to Wi-Fi network. Error 0700".

Any suggestions on what to do?

Before Spotify was released, I transferred multiple songs to the watch. It now seems I can't access them because Spotify is the preferred music service on the watch. Any tips in this regard as well?

I had the same issue when I was using a Wifi Mesh network (I have an Orbi Tri-band router).

I realized that the Fenix 5 Plus's wifi antenna may not be picking up the correct channel. Luckily for me, I had an old router lying around (TP-Link AC1900), I booted that one up and configured it to only broadcast 2.4GHZ on channel 1 (you may have to use different channels). Then I added the wifi network via Garmin Connect on my phone. It finally was able to connect and download music.
