Cannot disable voice prompts during exercise.

When Im at the gym and with music and during activity, I hear a voice prompt with every lap/set which pauses the music coming out of the 5X+ and I don't want that. I cannot find a way to turn that off.
I saw there is a setting in the Garmin Connect application, Activity settings that I can turn off the lap voice prompts but it is already OFF. I played with that but that didn't help at all.

So my question is, is this the way to turn that off, via the Garmin Connect application? or there is a way to turn this off in each and every app on the watch?
  • "Settings>Audio Prompts" on the watch itself should do it. I think the setting in GCM only applies if you're using the phone for music and not the watch.

Is there a feature request thread? It would be great to have voice prompts on for the run activity, but off for treadmill or bike activity.
  • Just to add additional info. This seems to be a synced setting. I want it on for the watch, but not for GCM. I changed this setting to on via my Fenix 5X and the audio prompt was delivered via my headphones when I was listening to music on a run. I recorded an activity with no headphones connected, and the audio prompts were delivered via my iPhone speakers. I ended up turning this setting off via GCM, and once synced to my Fenix 5X, audio prompts were off.
  • I managed to change that via the Audio Prompts settings on the watch and it does turn off the lap audio prompts, but it seems that if I change that from the Garmin Connect app, that setting is not being synced to the watch. Maybe a defect in the app.
  • Actually, when you turn it off on the watch, it turns off the prompts for headphones connected to the watch. When you turn it off on the app, it's for headphones connected to your phone.

Really? OK I didnt know that. Whats strange is that I sent Garmin customer support a question about it and the only reply was how to set it via the phone and no mention about the app at all.
    Good to know though.
