FW 5.0 bricked the watch?

Don't know if it has relation with Deezer problems but the watch is acting really bad since 5.0 update:
- Stock watchface "broken" (see attached image)
- Battery was yesterday at 100%, today with no workout nor nothing is 31% wtf
- Super laggy transitions between options, in the menu and controls (some icons dissappeared), it's like returning to Win 95...
- Pressing off button does not start the watch; it restarts

  • To answer the question in your title:
    No, it didn't.

What you describe is not a bricked watch. "Bricked" means that a firmware has broken a watch to a degree where it will not even be possible to load a new firmware on top to remedy the situation.

Ok, clear, so what word would you use for this behaviour?
  • "goofy things", but not a brick.

Have you tried a reboot? Keep pressing the light button until the watch turns itself off then turn it back on. This often helps with "goofy things".

If it doesn't do it, a hard reset might. Turn the watch off, and press both right buttons when you turn it back on. Release the top after the first beep, the bottom after the second. This will require you set it up again, as all settings will be lost. You can also try "reset" in the System menu.

Thanks Jim, soft reset was enough. So far so good.

Could understand this weird watch face broke, lag navigation....but 70% drop in 12 hours??

Just confirmng: Deezer app is the cause of the messy stuff
  • I also had problem with the Deezer app and my F5+. Heavy battery drain until I uninstalled it.

Didn't get the free trial months either. I got a code on the watch but on the Deezer site the code was invalid...

Yep, definitely Deezer is causing problems here.

I did use the trial code without problems.
