Black Bezel and scratch resistance

Hello

I was wondering how the Black Bezel is holding up against scratches. I do like the back bezel (coming from a silver F3 would like the change) but I get to bump my watch onto surfaces all the time in the gym or at work home etc. I am worried that scratches will show the shiny metal underneath. How is yours holding up after some use? is the black worth it or should I just go an get the silver one again?
Thanks

My (old) Fenix 3 Saphire did show some wear after the years, most of it when hiiting ground/stone while at Toughmuder or working in the garden, but i could live with it
The silver one will not have the same problem i guess.

Still i liked the black style more, so my Fenix 5plus is also black and has some micro scartches on the bezel already. Similar to the ones seen inDCRainmakers review https://media.dcrainmaker.com/images/2018/06/Garmin-Fenix5-Plus-Altimeter-CompassWidget.jpg (top bezel at 11:30) and near the screws.

I would always go with a sapphire glas version thou.. never had single scratch on Fenix3 sapphire and Fenix5+ sapphire glas
  • My black 5x plus bezel looks like this, but I used it outdoors for some tough hikes with many contacts to stones, trees...ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1407668.jpg
  • SpKouris,

i had a Fenix 3HR Sapphire for more than a year and no visible scratch on the bezel, the same with my Fenix 5+ Sapphire. Though I used them really 24/7, I have to say that i take good care of my stuff (no toughmudding or anything like that).

I can also agree with J-sch to take the Sapphire Version no matter what. After 15 months the sapphire crystal looked like on the very first day. Check what an protective cover for the regular glas costs and check how often you have to replace them, paying the extra dollars for the sapphire Edition will pay out soon.

    Best regards
    Christian
  • I had a black and switched to Titanium.

Stick with the Silver/Titanium, and it's noticably lighter :)

I love that I can brush the Titanium bezel with a 3M pad and it looks brand new in seconds.
  • I have the black sapphire and it has noticeable abrasions.

Personally it doesn't bother me as it feels part of the watch, the texture and experience it has gained from me doing things, making it uniquely mine.

But I can see why it'd upset others.
