Bought a 5+ Sapphire, have I made a mistake?

I ordered a new 5+ yesterday to replace my FR935. With all the complaints on here about battery life, HR, sleep tracking etc have I made a mistake?

Do people like their 5+ watches?

I came from a Gear S3 and FR230 for trail running, so the Fenix 5+ is pretty much the greatest thing I've ever owned.

    - Tracking is accurate enough for running
    - HR is accurate enough for my needs
    - Battery lasts longer than I can run (charge every 6 days)
    - Music works great on my $35 Phaiser headphones!
    - Speedy UI
    - Lot's of settings and options
    - Maps are actually useful
    - The non-DLC titanium version looks damn sexy
  • Gr4z depends why you are replacing the 935 - for me aprt from the open water swimming problems which took a while to iron out the 935 does everything I want

I assume that you want a larger, heavier watch with a more prestige look and maybe other features offered are also key to you.

If you are having doubts it seems an awful lot of money to spend on something you are not 100% satisfied with

What are your reasons for replacing?
  • Thanks all for your input. It seems it is a mixed bag, some love it, some not so much!

JSRUNNER_ you have hit the nail on the head. I want a watch I feel I can wear all the time. The 935 is great but I don't really like the look of it when wearing it to the office. I want something more rugged and appropiate for all scenarios. The speed increases and Garmin Pay will also be useful for me (I am with Santander UK so they support Garmin Pay). Am I mad? Maybe.
  • Gr4z lol understood - I have seen references to speed increases but not sure what is meant as I can't think of any occasions where i am waiting on the watch to do something other than waiting for GPS

I think it's general UI speed.Yeah nothing special, but still a nice upgrade. If it's all not worth it, I will send it back. But I am looking forward to at least trying it all out.

Where did you buy it that allows returns of used items?

    Thanks
  • In the UK you have ~30 days to return most items. I have taken back stuff before that has been 'opened'.
