The sleep tracking bug where the watch shows twice the amount of sleep is still there. It used to work perfectly until some update, currently I have to edit the sleep start time manually every day.

How broken can the algorithms be to recognize time periods where over 70 percent of the time spent wearing it is movement with elevated heart rates, how is this sleep?
The battery fuel gauge is still broken and also shows garbage.

    Is a 800€ joke, isn't it??
  • Well, OWS GPS tracking is still completely useless. I did an International distance Tri yesterday and it only recorded 500yds of a ~1700yd swim. The track is absolutely terrible. It looks like it tracked the first 3 minutes and then lost the signal for most of the rest of the swim. I have attached the swim course diagram so you can see what it was supposed to look like. It was the alternate route shown in dashed green and was 2 laps.

This was GPS only. Has anyone else had any luck with GPS + GLONASS or GPS + GALILEO tracking OWS better? With the FR935 selecting anything other than GPS only made the tracks terrible with the newest GPS firmware. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1405950.jpg

Well my Fenix 3 was always 'ok' at tracking OWS, not great but not far off. My Chronos was about the same however stopped tracking OWS and I never got to the bottom of it. I dd the Hever Castle Tri at the weekend and now have a Fenix 5 Plus and apart from two spikes, the track is ok and only 100m off a ~1500m swim. Currently my watch is set to GPS only and recording every second instead of Smart. Try those settings and see how you get on. Bear in mind that OWS GPS recording is difficult and you're never going to get a recording like you would on a run due to you watch being submerged for periods of time.
  • Someone should sell a swimming cap with a Garmin fixture....

As I said in my post, I was using those exact same settings. GPS only and recording every second. Did you even look at the track pictures? It wasn't a "bad track", it completely lost GPS position for at least 20 minutes of swimming at a time. If you look at the pace graph you can see where pace was tracked(Good GPS signal) and where it completely lost the signal. It looks like it tracked fine for the first ~5min of the swim and then only got a GPS position three times over the next ~35 minutes of swimming.

I have owned a Vivoactive, Fenix 3HR, FR935, and have used a FR735XT and Fenix 5 in OWS swimming before and NEVER had an issue even close to this. I understand that the GPS tracking will not be as straight and true as a run or bike but only recording 1/10th of the time makes it completely useless.
