Fenix 5 plus 'Loading map' bootloop

I am currently out of country and using an uploaded map that I put on my Fenix 5 plus a couple of months ago and to date have not seen this problem. However over the past couple of days whilst tracking walks the watch has rebooted and got as far as loading maps before rebooting again, this loop continues for 10-20 minutes before the watch starts up and then everything works fine including all the maps. I am away from any usable computer but it is most odd and worrying to say the least
• A few suggestions;
1. Next time the boot loop happens, hold the light button for about 20 seconds to see if you can get the device to power off. Try powering it up normally. If that works to stop the boot loop, then go to step 2
2. hold the menu button to access settings. Then go to about and press the light button 8 times. This should put you into the development menu. Select save ram region
3. The watch will appear to freeze but in 30 seconds or so it should resume normal operation.
4. Connect to a computer and go to the Garmin\debug folder and grab all files from this location.
5. zip these files up and send to [email protected] along with a description of what happened when your watch crashed.

you may still have to talk to support about getting your watch replaced, but at least this way you'll get some info on what is causing the crash to the software team.
