How to disable road navigation and use straight line navigation instead?

I feel kinda stupid. I think I saw an option to switch between straight line navigation and road navigation when I first set up the watch. But since then I have searched the menus of the watch, and I have googled without any result.

So how do I navigate in a straight line to a saved location without the watch insisting on calculating a route by road and delivering turn by turn instructions?

For the Walk app: Start > Walk > Walk settings > Routing > Activity > set as "Direct routing"

I've noticed that Turn-by-turn navigation cues are a bit off while running. Is there a setting to help make things more accurate/timely?

Can't help there. But I have noticed that the watch seems to hang on a turn arrow after I have completed the turn. The watch will count down the distance to the next turn, but it will still show the turn arrow of the previous turn.

Hmmm. I didn't notice that it was hanging. Mine gives me a notification roughly 40 or 50 ft from the intersection. It thinks it's 150 feet or so, but it isn't. I mean, unless I'm running 25 feet a second...

Then, after the turn, mine vibrates again and shows the last turn arrow.

Wouldn't it be a lot better if it just vibrated 2 times for left and 3 times for right? If it beeped or gave voice over like it does for audio prompts that would be amazing, but I realize that's probably a pipe dream at this point.
