There is a French company which is making applications for divers on the Fenix series. https://www.diveiq.com/ But Garmin do not endorse them. It uses the barometric pressure sensor which is recalibrate for a diving purpose.... ;-)
Since the fenix 5x Plus has only water ranking of ATM 10, it is highly suggested not to try to dive with the fenix. Plus, there are other hardware differences between the fenix 5 plus series and the Descent Mk1 that were made to improve the experience for divers with the Descent Mk1.
Come on ô Garmin-Heath, the Descent Mark 1 is only ATM 10 too.
And I got many friends who are diving with their Fenix 5X and now with their Plus. I have done it with my 5X in swamps, in the see and in white water and (not yet with my 5X Plus but I will with no after thoughts). We pay a premium to have strong and waterproof equipment.

Voili voila... I love the Fenix and I love the Descent, I will certainly buy the Mark II. But the Fenix 5X is a tough cookie and people use it for diving too. ;-)
