Beta installed with no problem, testing start now.

Isn't the OWS better with the 2.23 ? Anyway, I'm waiting for FabioSaitta to have a dip ! :-)

Hi Team
I would like to help you I already installed 4,65 but I have gps 2,23 too complicate to put this 2,24.
Do you have easier way to download beta version ?
Why you not improve beta testers live ? WE have enough risk and hard life with beta version :p.

Example you can add option in watch where is the update option to download via watch beta version, via wifi, bluetooth ,:o

Is not comfortable to install beta alwaysrequired connected with cable jump between folders, after update one file after another and sometimes link do download not works.

Come on I believe you can do it, just do it
• If you are not able to download a file from internet and put it on the watch I suggest that you wait for the official release. Betas from garmin are more alpha stage and often have problems, which you would sometimes need to handle.
• GPS Performance seems to be a bit better... Just did an easy run on Mixed Terrain with Streets and Forest with some Altitude...
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2993039777

PACE on the other side is NOT BETTER at all, as soon as i go into the forest or the trees are closing-in is the pace still droping down... but guess this will never change...

Not tested more of the firmware yet, only the run and wallet.
- what i found out on fw 4.64 and 4.65 is that i have to open the wallet on the connect app again after the update of the firmware to get it again on the watch...

Understand you guys about the disappointment of the CIQ Data Bug, but i think and guess there are more important things on a High-End SPORT Watch wich have to be fixed first then a simple Data Problem - which is of course annoying, but not a Problem for Sports Data Tracking it self. (just my opinion as my priority is much more on tracking and analyzing training than on a wroing showing data on a watch-face)

I first reported this bug in 4.61 and I am still receiving emails from the beta team about it with steps to try and rectify it. I have just been asked if it is still present on 4.65. My guess is, Garmin are unaware at just how widespread this bug is so I'd urge affected users to please report it if you haven't already done so for beta 4.65. Please send all bug reports to "][email protected], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 Plus series you have in the subject line.

I've been emailing back and forth with the beta team over the last two days or so. I let them know their date calculation function for CIQ wasn't taking in to account time zones. The CIQ dates are flipping at UTC/GMT 00:00. So if you were GMT - 6, the date should remain until 06:00 GMT, then it should flip to the next day because when it's 06:00 GMT, it's midnight in a GMT -6 time zone. This assumes your zone is not observing daylight savings, in which case it would be less an hour or 05:00 GMT.

Unfortunately, this bug could be a bit elusive if your time zone is close to the GMT line. I would guess that the Asian Pacific region would notice this the most since they are 9-12 hours off GMT. Europe, Africa, eastern South America might not notice the issue since it would only happen for a few hours - for some regions it would happen in the middle of the night.

If I had a Venn diagram, the group of people who use custom faces, the group of people who notice the bug, and the people who care about it might be fairly small in the overlapping section. I assume this is why this bug has been a bit tougher to track and reproduce.

I gave them some device screenshots just prior and after the bug occurs. It seemed like they were pretty clear on how to fix it. It's clearly the CIQ Date function and TZ calculations.

• Looks like some of the IQ Wigets force a crash fo the watch on 4.65 same as on 4.62...

As example "Wind and Wave".

Others like "Quick Forecast" are getting an IQ error on the Display....

I have version on my fenix 5x+ 4,65 and today is hang up again stop watch , during remove application TrainsAsOne ( because is not useful for free account)

And still show me wrong date as you see on the film below I recording film 08.09.2018 and show me date 07.09.2018 ( app: weather face)

Hi Jan502, what is your time zone? Are you GMT +2? Also, is this 10:54 AM your local time?
• Yes gmt+2 like in Berlin,Roma.
so maybe issue with date is related to CIQ
• Ran an almost 12 mile loop today and was very happy with both the GPS and altimeter accuracy. The elevation plot starts and ends at only a 3 ft offset after a 11.67 mile run. The GPS was nailed to the trail. I'd share the full activity, but it starts at a buddies house and I don't have a privacy zone setup for that in Connect. This was probably the best the GPS plot has looked.

• ** My current battery usage shows 88% at 12:39PM. 100% at 11PM yesterday, 98% this AM, used BT music, routing, and running (5K) for about 30 mins and not much else. Other than checking to see if data is syncing in Weather App and a few notifications.

.

Over several months I averaged close to 3 weeks of battery life with 1.5 to 2 hrs of GPS activities a week, and smart watch functions enabled. A battery widget showed I used 0.215% per hour, which matches 3 weeks of use.

After installing this beta, and hard reset (hold power button 20 seconds) I dropped from100% to 90% in 24 hours with no GPS usage. I did another hard reset. It got better, but still using battery about 50% faster than before.

Has anyone else seen battery performance drop with this beta?
