VO2 Max Accuracy

Hey Everyone,

I've always known the Garmins to be a bit of a guesstimate but heard they were pretty accurate. This week I was part of a study that involved an actual v02 max test so I was excited to compare the results. My fenix 5+ is going off of my power meter on the bike and estimated me at 57 whereas the actual lab tested me at 62.6.

I'm curious, has anyone else compared their garmins to their lab results? If so, how did they match up?

I have the F5 (not plus), and it gives me a running VO2max that is a couple of points below my lab tested value. I had similar values on my earlier Suunto Ambit, running Firstbeat 1.0. Also my previous Polar RS800 gave me a VO2max just below my tested value. And I find that reasonable, since a lab test on a flat threadmill without any wind, should be a bit higher.

My Vivosport, on the other hand, is completely off, when it comes to VO2max estimates.
