Is there any software update that fixes the bug with auto laps during intervals? With all my earlier Garmin watches auto laps has been disabled when choosing intervals from the watch menu.
As PatrickNSF notes this was instigated in response to a vociferous few who felt they needed both auto lap and the interval laps. I never understood why. But clearly I was one of the less vocal few (perhaps silent majority) who didn't shout loud enough.
Yeah, I wonder why they need both intervall laps and auto laps. Can’t think of any scenario for this. But anyhow, I have made an Interval activity, so it should work as expected now.
It's no use for short intervals; it's quite useful if you're setting up a workout along the lines of "warm up; run 15 miles easy; cool down", especially if you leave the long run interval open rather than a precise difference (where you could set up 15 one-mile steps quite quickly). That in turn is useful when you're using the Garmin ecosystem to put a plan into your watch. I prefer the current system, as these watches support so many different activities that it's not a big deal having two run apps identical apart from autolap, so both camps can have something that works the way they want :)
