MTB/Bike Auto Lap won't turn off

I can't seem to get the Auto Lap to turn off. It's pretty annoying when it starts a new lap during a MTB ride. When this happens, the timer now shows the current lap time and not the total ride time. I don't need to track 'Laps'. I only want total time.

Settings I am using: Hold Up Button-> Settings-> Activites & Apps-> MTB (or Bike)-> MTB Settings-> Auto Lap (shows Manual only)-> Auto Lap off

I also have Lap Key to off, so I don't accidentally press the lap key.

With these settings, the watch still starts a new 'Lap' during my rides.

Is there a setting I am missing that I can try? Anyone else having this problem?
  • I use the manual lap button, with auto lap off, don't have any problems, you will soon get used to it, if not just increase the distance to auto lap to a distance you don't usually do 95km, then it will never trigger a lap, even if it does trigger it should not send your total time to 0, thats just the lap time, so not sure what thats about. You can add different data screens with the time, etc.
  • Sounds like something has got glitchy with your settings, as turning auto lap off works for me on the MTB app. A reset of settings will probably clear this (Menu>Settings>System>Reset>Reset Default Settings), but I recognise that is a PITA as you have to configure everything from scratch again (I know you can backup the settings, but then you would just be restoring the glitch). So before doing that settings reset, do try the forced shut down (20 second press of the light button); that often clears some basic settings wierdness and is worth a try first.

Thanks for the tip about increasing lap distance. That may be a doable workaround. As far as Time Data screens, I have 3 data screens and 'timer' is one of them. It changes (by itself) from Total time to Last lap time, but 'last lap time' is suppose to be a different screen option all together.

Ok, thanks! I'll give the forced shutdown a try. Hopefully I won't have to do a reset.
  • Did a forced shutdown. Tested it last night, it didn't work. I'll reset to default and see what happens.

Reset the watch back to default settings, and still have the problem. Rode with the 'MTB' activity/app with auto lap to Manual Only, data screen to 'Timer' and, Lap Key to off. Still starts a new lap when I start to overlap on same trail. Super frustrating! I have no use for lap times. I only want total ride time. Once it shows a new lap, that is the only time that shows on the screen. You can not see the total time w/out pausing the ride.
