no cadence from power meter since Software > 3.21

I can reproduce a problem with cadence data not transfered, saved on Fenix 5xplus from my eBike running a Yamaha PWX Motor. It did send combined power/cadence data via bluetooth till 3.21. After updating to 3.52beta or 4.2 cadence showed 0, now i went back to 3.21 and cadence works again. Fedback and fit files were sent to Beta team.
  • Is there anyone else out there using Fenix 5xplus with a bluetooth connected powermeter on a bicycle? Are you able to see cadence data?
i just moved from my forunner 935 to the fenix, and even with my forunner i was able to see the power and cadence data without problems.
  • I have a stages gen 3 left side power meter, works fine with watch, cadance power etc, before the 5xplus I had a 935, no difference with the power meter, one thing though , it will work with bluetooth but I prefer ant plus connection as I can calibrate power meter with ant plus but not Bluetooth, this was the same with my 935.
  • Just stumbled over a fix for edge 130... Ver. 3 just released had the following... so there might be hope for me.
    • Fix issue with BLE power meter cadence

I have your same problem. How did you get back to version 3.21 after the 4.20 update?
  • Within the Beta code for 3.21 (which i have as local copy) was the original version 3.1. as soon as you install a backlevel version, you loose all your settings, records..., after 3.1 i updated again to 3.21.
within the description for beta 4.59 they explain the downgrade.

If you would like to revert to the last public release software, drop the gupdate.gcd file found in the System_Backdate_v310 folder in the \GARMIN directory

???????I have same issue. Fenix 5x plus. 4.2. Stages Gen 3, bluetooth connection, no cadence data. I can't even see a ant + connection option. Are you able to see an ant+ option as well as Bluetooth?

Ok I will try to explain what I did, as Bluetooth connection is no good as in can't calibrate power meter, works fine otherwise, just check in sensors, if it's Bluetooth or Ant plus, by looking at Details, if it's Bluetooth delete it or remove it, then go back to add sensors, keep trying until when you've added it and checked it's ant plus, then re name it, what ever number and just add ant at the end, then you will know that it's the right one, then it will ask you if you want to calibrate, press yes, and it will give you an off set number which is not 0 , there is probably other ways, but this worked for me, if you get 0 offset the power meter is not calibrated, Ant Plus works for me, but I know it was a pain to get it right, just don't allow the Bluetooth sensor at all, Hope this makes sense, not sure if I've explained that well.
  • Has someone tried the new beta 4.65 which has new bluetooth code? Unfortunatly my bike is currently unavailable do to a warranty replacement of the frame :-( so i can not try, but the new beta fixed the running dymamics problem after 2 minutes...
