Firmware 4.00 Release

My Fenix 5 plus updated to firmware 4.00 in the morning. I can't find the changelog yet.
(GPS, WIFI, Sensor Hub have same ver. as 3.56 Beta) ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1387081.jpg
  • Has the roll-out been stopped? It's sitting at 20% since Friday.
(Still waiting for my update. I am in the US - Midwest)

I assumed the post by Garmin meant that 20% would be rolled out per day. This is day 4 since the post, and I have not gotten the update either. (I am in New England in the U.S.)

    Nothing here. Waiting patiently...
  • I’m just waiting for the next beta release...v4.00 has nothing more than the v3.56b

I looked at the Beta - currently too lazy to unpack and do all the manual copy/paste! Was hoping for a quick roll out of 4. Now waiting impatiently ;)
  • Is it really too much asked from Garmin that they communicate about the update, and when (or if at all) the other 80% of customers can download it...?!? :-(

    All signs point to yes.

It’s still 7.30am on a Monday morning in Olathe at present, so I seriously doubt there’s anyone in to push the “next 20%” button yet. I’ve also not received the update yet, but I’m not getting bent out of shape about it as I have 3.56 Beta which was the candidate Beta for 4.00 anyway (so 4.00 is 3.56 dressed up in production release clothes). If you really want the features of 4.00 today, just download and install 3.56 beta. Otherwise wait a couple of working days for the 4.00 to be fully rolled out to 100%.
  • I just spoke with a Garmin rep., and he explained that they typically roll out a new update to about 20% of registered users per day. The 4.0 firmware update has been pulled for now because some of those who first got it reported problems. He anticipates that it will become available again within a week.

What a mess and unprofessional software development/management at Garmin - really the worst i ever experienced!
That funny "20%" guinea pig method is a testimony for "ahmm... we don't exactly know what we are doing, so let's only infect 20% of our customers with the new firmware-experiment so that we don't have to exchange 100% of the delivered watches".
