Sapphire or not sapphire glass

I don't know what to choose... I like the stainless steel look but i'd like to have sapphire glass, so, the only choice should be titanium gray with sapphire glass but it costs 150€ more... In any case i always put a screen protector on, so, maybe, sapphire glass is not so much important... I read also that sapphire glass has less visibility... It is also true that i'm a kind of person that always buy a new version (i owned Fenix 2, 3, Epix, Fenix 5X...), so the screen it does not have to last forever, maybe next year i'll go for Fenix 6... However, what do you think about it?
  • Sapphire, sapphire, sapphire.  I've known two different people who did not have the sapphire glass and the face shattered even with the screen protector.  I agree with what is said below, get the sapphire and regret losing $100 for a day.  Don't get the sapphire and you'll regret your watch purchase forever when the face shatters.

  • This is a very old thread, but I'd just like to point out that Sapphire glass is mainly known for its scratch resistance, not that much shatter resistance ("Sapphire is famously hard to scuff up with abrasives. But it’s also incredibly easy to crack or shatter when subjected to direct impact." watchaware.com/.../sapphire-isnt-as-durable-as-you-think)

  • 100% agreed. I have the 5+ Sapphire since 2019 and so far no scratches on the glass, although I hit some corners pretty hard. A friend of mine has the glass version and he’s a bit disappointed for the scratches.

  • I think now is a good time to buy the 5 Plus (Sapphire). I made the mistake and bought much too early -> bought a ridiculously overpriced watch. Should be the same with the Fenix 6 now
