Creating 10-20-30 Workout

I'm trying to create one of these HIIT workouts in Garmin connect. I'm basically trying to create 30 seconds jog, 20 seconds run, 10 seconds sprint x5, then recovery, all repeated 4 times. The repeat function doesn't seem to be applicable to this type of workout design. Any tips as to how to do this without manually entering 60 separate steps?

  • DomHoran can't view your workout "It looks like you don't have access privileges to view this." Now that I think of it, not sure you can make a workout public.

I can't view it either. In any case, I'm not asking about the finished product. I can create what I'm trying to create and am part way there. I'm looking for an easier way. What I'd like is some way to take sections (30-20-10 sequence) repeat it 5 times, and even better take that whole chunk plus an added recovery piece and and then repeat the chunk 4 times.
  • No obvious option to make public

It's the little padlock icon at on the top right side of the page when you're looking at an activity.

wbornstein - is this what you're trying to create? It's much easier to create workouts on a computer than in the mobile app.

  • carl.andersson padlock not there for a workout. However, there is a Chrome extension you can add. Have not tried it yet.
  • My mistake! I thought DomHoran was trying to share an activity not a workout

Yes, I am trying to create what you show in your screen shot. I'm usually good with such things but had not been able to figure out how to add additional steps into the repeat block. After your screen shot showed it was feasible I played with and realized that drag and drop into the repeat block works. I'm assuming that's how you created this? Anyway, thanks for showing me that it's doable--saved me a ton of time!
  • Glad to help wbornstein. To be fair it was difficult to drag and drop the repeat block inside another one - took a few goes!

Agreed. I had tried and failed and had given up--until you showed that it could be one. Had to really exaggerate the indent during the drag and drop.
