Hi All. I'm curious how you find the weight of the Fenix 5 Plus for running?
I'm upgrading and undecided between the 645 Music and the Fenix 5 Plus. The one downside (beside the higher cost) is the increased weight of the Fenix 5 Plus. Does the weight bother any runners out there?
I'll use primarily for running - I generally run 70-90 miles a week. I know that a Fenix 5S Plus comes in at a lower weight, but then you give up a fair bit of battery life which is one of the reasons I'm interested in the 5 Plus (given how many hours I'm using with GPS a week). Another advantage of the Fenix vs. the 645 for me is apparently they have improved on the bluetooth dropouts (my 'receiver' sits on my right ear while I wear the watch on my left, so I'm suspecting that the improvement will matter to me).
I was never bothered by the weight of my old 305 or 320, but I did then appreciate the substantial reduction in size/weight when the 620s were released. The Fenix matches the weight of those old watches, but doesn't carry the bulk ... so it led to my question at the outset - if it bothers any runners out there.
A secondary question is if you found the sapphire worthwhile. In Canada it adds $150 to the price of the watch. That's alot, but I'm leaning to it as I do have very minor nicks in my forerunner 620 and forerunner 630, and I would prefer to keep the screen appearance close to new over its lifetime.
Thanks!
