Music / iTunes Library via Garmin Express

I'm able to move files to/from my Fenix 5 Plus via Garmin Express if I set "managing your music in Express" under [Settings] - [Music] set to 'Manual'.

But I'd prefer to use iTunes, since that's easier for managing podcasts and such. But if I set [Music] to iTunes, the iTunes Library under My Music in Garmin Express is empty; refreshing does nothing. Just says 'Music found in your media library will appear here'....except, well, it doesn't appear here.

iTunes is set up with the iTunes Media folder location library on an external hard drive. I thought that might be an issue, so changed the folder location to the C: drive and reboot - no change.

Anyone seen this and/or have any tips to get this to work?

Hi,

Where do I even find these options? "managing your music in Express"

In Garmin Express I see "Music", I go there, see two tabs "My Music" and "Music Apps"

Under "My Music" I see a list for iTunes Library and and another for what's in the watch Fenix 5 Plus, but no selection for manual or anything like that, what are you talking about?

I don't see these settings anywhere

You need to go into the settings from the top right corner of the Garmin Express window. Then click on music to select Manual or iTunes Library. You can then select the folder where you music resides. Hopefully that will help you.

It must be the Windows version I suppose, there's no "Settings" on the top right corner of the Garmin Express window on the Mac, there's Preferences but there's nothing like that on it, anyways thanks

Maybe Garmin uses the XML version of the library https://ccm.net/faq/42531-enable-the-sharing-of-itunes-library-xml-with-other-applications
