Reading Multiple Texts from same person

I've noticed that if someone sends me 2 or more texts before I clear the first one, I can not read any of them or send a reply. It only shows number of messages and who from. No option to read. Am I missing something here?

Hopefully this will be fixed. It's really annoying.
