Switching off the map

LOL. We bought the Fenix 5X and the Plus series because of that great off line cartography you can even upgrade !!
It's not a Suunto Traverse it is Spartaaaa.... oups Feniiiiix !! ;-)

I was kust thinking about battery draining and sometimes the trace can be more visible without the map. And also swirching off the map can increase the speed when zooming. But 90% of the time I will use the map ;-)

Just go in the map settings of whatever activity you are in, and deselect / deactivate all maps.

Also put the level of details to the lowest possible for faster zoom in and out.
You can even rename the activity with that new settings for quick use. :-)

Do you mean it's possible to make a copy of this activity with a new name ? For exmple, I have Hike, I would like tocreate Hike2, so I will have Hike app and Hike2 app ?

For the maps deactivations:

Choose your activity then
Setting
Current activity
Map
Configure maps
And here you got the possibility to de activate each one of them or choose a particular map you have downloaded to the Fenix.

And yes you can rename an activity to suit your uses and options. :-)
