Backup / Clone using a MAC ?

Is there a easy way to clone the content of a Fenix 5x plus on a MAC, thus it does not mount as a drive most macos tools (superduper, carbon copy cloner,...) do not work, and Android tool does only allow to copy „single / selected“ files. Or is there a detailed description on which files to save (this was available for the old style Fenix)
  • Load the Android File Transfer on your Mac and attach your watch. You can then backup the entire device to an SD Card.
  • I now used Android File Transfer and „copied“ the 4 visible folders out of the root directory of the Fenix to the HDD. So this is not real „clone“ nor do i know if there are some more hidden or system files/directorys which i do not see using Android File Transfer Tool.

But i think i have the important files (incl. the maps)

If someone stumbles over a easy tool to mount the Fenix as a drive to the mac, please share the tip with us.
  • Not sure what you are doing with your backup, but I can confirm that mine(performed in this method) allows me to mount my SDCard in Basecamp, and Basecamp thinks its my 5X+. So my maps and such load much faster, etc. So it probably will suffice as a backup and recovery for maps and such. And I'm guessing its the best option for now.

Try download the best way to connect android to mac and you can easily do Sync Mac with Android and iOS devices, Sync with MTP, address book sync and calendars.

Sync from the Mac computer with the Android phone and back again using the app SyncMate.
