Fenix 5x display issues

So I bought a Fenix 5x plus and I'm having display issues I haven't found anything about. I'll just go through the issues here and attach some pictures:

1. If I put heart rate in more than one field on my watch face (one of Garmins pre-installed ones), I get different values in the data fields. If I put heart rate in all of them I get different values in all of them (two may sync up just by chance while shifting).

2. I have numbers getting scrambled with one another so I can't read the heart rate and some times numbers are partially lost.

is anyone else having these issues? Can anyone check what happens if the put heart rate in multiple data fields? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1375086.jpg

Of course I only get one value but how do I then know if that heart rate is correct or not? And I still get the display issue with the numbers getting scrambled.
  • Krissche Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have able to reproduce the issue and will make a ticket to look into this.

Any risk this is a limitation in hardware?

where can I stay updated on the progress when you're looking into this?

    thanks

After having gotten a new one after sending mine in for repairs I have the same issue on my new watch. So this is probably a problem with every or most Fenix 5X plus's.
  • After looking into this more, the watch face is working as design since each data field is sampling your heart rate data at different times. This happens to cut down battery drain while out of an activity since it allows each data field to take a turn to get its information. The process makes more sense when every field is set to different data and you are only seeing the different timing since your data fields set to the same thing.

That is fine, but it still doesn't explain the merging of numbers, loss of activated pixel etc. (just look at the picture above. The top and right data field have corrupted numbers) on the watch faces as the heart rate shifts, I have also had the step counter number get split in half on the length and had them slide a pixel or two from center so it looks completly split. I have a picture of this as well. So to be clear, the number/pixel "corruption" happens even if you have different stats in all of the data fields and no matter what watch face I use (3 different watch faces, I haven't actually sat and watched for this in every thinkable scenario).
  • Krissche Please update your software to 4.20 since I am not able to reproduce this issue on the newest software.

I am on 4.2 and as mentioned this is the second watch I am on. try changing to all heart rate. I have the problem when I have date, heart rate, steps and notifications (battery, phone connectivity etc.), but the issue is worsened by having heart rate in every field, so I am guessing it gets worse the more is happening on the display.
