OSM maps and Garmin POI

Just upgraded from Fenix 3 to Fenix 5 plus. So far so good.
I got a question regarding the maps. When I (would) install OSM (non Garmin) maps, how about the POI's which are standard on the watch... Do I lose these or are these installed on the watch but in an other (Garmin) file?

POIs are part of the map so you won't lose any by installing another map.

If I understand correctly;
Install OSM maps --> OSM POI
Use standard Garmin maps --> Garmin POI

I'm not sure about your device but that will certainly be true. Some devices will show POIs from both maps even when only one is selected.
