new device, same floors climbed error.

Hi, I have four days with my new 5xPlus everything has been amazing... except the floors climbed tracking.

It is very erratic. First stairs I took it was accurate, later I climbed two floors and it only marked one, it remained like that the whole day: every two floors of 14 stairs it tracked just one.
Then it stoped counting floors at night.
I reseted the watch and it began counting accurately the next day and at the seventh floor it stopped counting.

I can´t seem to find a pattern; I have tried outdoors, indoors, after barometer and altimeter calibration, with my arm movement accented, arm normal, no handrails, etc.
For me, this is the best feature in a fitness tracker as I love to climb stairs and it works for me as a daily floors goal.

I have a vivosmart 3 and it is “kind of accurate” it misses 50% of the times, a fenix chronos that misses 70% of the time. I really thought that the plus side of the watches was the factor that would solve this. I also have a fitbit ionic that is spot on. I don´t even have to move my arm for it to track the exact floor count.

I hope there is a tip somewhere that I am missing.
  • I've had this same issue with my Garmin devices. Had it with Vivoactive 3, Fenix 5 as well as Forerunner 645 Music (this one is slightly better but still only gets about half the floors). I've had a fitbit ionic, fitbit versa and fitbit charge 2 and all 3 fitbits nail each floor each time. Whats weird is the Garmins do decending floors a lot better then ascending.
