With the 645m, I've been trying Garmin Pay at various places over the last week (my bank was just added), and I'm running at 1 of 3 place that accept NFC/tap payments, that work with Garmin pay. (I'm in the US) The interesting thing, is the first place it worked didn't have any indication that the terminal worked with NFC at all..
I suspect that some of the terminal SW doesn't support Garmin Pay yet.
It’s worked everywhere I’ve tried it so far. I did have one “card error” that required me to do the payment again but it worked on the second try. I’ve found that many places that have the contactless payment logo don’t actually work, even with Apple Pay or Android Pay. Sort of like all the stores that have chip readers but tell you not to use them.
I've been using Garmin pay on my 5+ daily since I got it and never had an issue. Everywhere that contactless [payment is accepted it has worked fine whether it has been shops, bars and restaurants. This is in the UK.
