Strength training units problem

I recently bought a fenix 5 plus as a general purpose watch/activity tracker/all day wearable.

I used it for one strength training session and while it works well, I cannot set the weight unit to pounds in Garmin Connect. The watch correctly asks for pounds when using the strength app and doing a free workout since I configured it in watch settings.

However, when I create a custom workout in Garmin Connect the weights are being requested in kg which is confusing as the plates go up by 5 lb. There are only 3 unit options (metric, statute and statute uk) and since I'm in Canada we use metric with slight exceptions.

How can I change only the weight unit in Garmin Connect without changing all the units?

EDIT: Garmin Connect converts the weight in pounds that was entered in the watch into kilos when the activity is uploaded. It's difficult to keep track of progression this way. I'm hoping that someone knows of a way to get pounds as weight within Garmin Connect. The watch itself allows setting the units categorically.

However it seems that Garmin Connect only allows switching all the units as a group. If anyone knows how to achieve fine grained control I would appreciate this, otherwise I will probably have to contact Garmin about this as the back-end really limits the usability of this feature.

As my first high-end wearable, initial impressions are good and I'm appreciating the upgrade over Fitbit.
