Cut problem while running

Hi,

yesterday I got my new Fenix 5 plus, to potentialy replace my 935.
I configured exactly the same as the 935 to start to try, during a run in the evening.
I started a running activity, with GPS+Galileo to try, and also listening some music.
I was looking at the watch every, let's say, 30sec-1min, to check the info and that all was fine. Then I realized the second time checking, that the screen was in the watch mode, not in the running activity, getting probaly a cut in some of the data during that time (I believe only measuring altitude and time). I entered again in running and fater that, all went fine till the end.
I'm sharing the activity to see if anyone cound verify or give to me any advice.
Many thanks

  • Are you sure you did not press any buttons accidentally?

Yes, I'm sure. Also if you verify, some parameters (like time or altitude) were still on. In case of pressing of a button all is going off

    new watch new hickups
What kind of music files were you playing.

Looking at your GC data it shows a cut at 0,5km and 3,55km.

Upload your fit file here so we can have a look at the data with FFRT.

Contact Garmin Support and tell them about this issue.

    Success with the new watch.

    Yes, new challenges ;-)
Well, standard MP3, but I'm so sure the main dropoff (at 0,5km the other was manually set by me), was caused by the music. Today I was making another 5km run, changesd to normal GPS and no music and all went perfect.
    Thanks!

I had the same thing happen on the first run. The first run was right after an update on the watch where I didn't do a reboot (again) after the update was completed.

After I restarted the watch it has been very stable.

Interesting... I took 2 more runs during last days, listening music but GPS in normal mode. No more issues.
Maybe as you said, this is something related with the initial setup.
  • Yesterday, another run... And again, around 0.50Km, the watch went to a watch face from the running activity. So disapointed...
