Disappointing battery life

I have just upgraded from a Fenix 5 to a Fenix 5 plus and so far I am finding the battery life to be a lot less than I would expect.

I used to get nearly 2 weeks battery life out of the Fenix 5 but so far the Fenix 5 plus has used 25% in 2 days, both watches are set up and used exactly the same.

I know the Fenix 5 plus is supposed to have slightly less battery life but at this rate it is not even going to last a week.

Does anyone know if this will improve if I cycle the battery a couple of times or if this is normal for this model

As I've seen it on occasions and seen someone else mention it. How many of you have seen the battery level stick at 100% after a charge (normally cured by a reboot)

Also noticing worse battery life after 4.2 update (battery life was already pretty poor prior to this).
Yesterday the battery was at 84% and I went for a 1 hour walk (recorded with GPS) --> down to 75%, not terrible. I then go on a 35 min walk and it is down to around 55%.
2 hours later I am going to bed and look at my watch and battery has drained down to 35%! After charging it up a bit, the battery continued to drain about 0.5% per hour.

I updated my Forunner 935XT with Software 9,3 version, now the battery is working just for a couple of hours (No GPSs activated, no activities just watch). I already reboot/reset the device, any suggestion? thanks !

Massive battery drain on beta 4.59.... :-(

Charged F5S+ to 100%
Charged FR645 to 100%

Ran 12k in 1 hour.

F5S+ down to 84%
FR645 down to 93%

30 min later

F5S+ down to 80%
FR645 still on 93%

Extremly dissapointing...!O(/&!)/%!!

My 5s+ doesn't make it 48 hours in my normal use (no music, notifications, about 120 minutes of GPS tracking per day across two activities). I have to charge it every night.

Massive battery drain also with 4.61b!

Same here. Having charged it to 100% and after installing 4.16b yesterday it is down to 67% after only 18 hours. Only "activity" had been 10mins of walking with GPS to test the GPS-update. In 4.20 it was defintely much better

It seems that gps chip remains active even if activity is stopped...

Is there a simple and secure way to shut the GPS off - beside resetting the watch?
Btw. first impression is that GPS performance improved. Just compared it under not-too-difficult conditions during a 10k run with the smartphone tracker and the tracks now look pretty much the same.
